The Audubon UMC Youth Group meets Sunday evenings at 6PM at our church. This year, the leadership was presented with a pleasant dilema. The Youth Group had grown too large for the room we were using as a meeting place.

 

 

We knew that we needed to start looking for another room in the church to hold our meetings.

 

In mid December 2009, we were made an offer that forced us to look for a new location. A local business where a former YG leader is employed was doing renovations and needed to get rid of a large office table, 5 office chairs, and a full size pool table! Paris immediately thought of her old Youth Group kids. During the week before Christmas, the furniture was moved and put into place in the large sized but little used classroom on the top floor of the church.

 

On January 3rd, the mostly unsuspecting Youth Group met as normal in our old meeting room. They were told to grab a piece of furnture and haul it up two flights of stairs to see our new meeting place.

 

 

 

 

It was not until they entered the new Youth Group Center did they learn of the pool table.

 

 

 

We are now able to hold our weekly meetings in a much larger space that will allow our group to continue to grow.

 

 

 

Now, after our weekly Bible Studies and discussions, we are able to fellowship with each other over a game of pool and soon other fun events.
